The Manor House in Tanglewood | Sarah Beth & Austin

Sarah Beth & Austin’s thoughtful, intentional, fun, and flat out STYLISH wedding at the Manor House in Tanglewood, a historic home outside of Winston-Salem, was one of my absolute favorite weddings of the last year. This wedding truly had it all - a sweet & relaxed couple, impeccable styling, sentimental details, and a gorgeous historic venue that served as the perfect backdrop.

The Manor House in Tanglewood is located just outside Winston-Salem, making it a great and central location for couples across NC. Sarah Beth & Austin held their wedding ceremony at the nearby Mt. Pleasant Chapel, with the reception held at the Tanglewood Manor House. As is true of so many historic home wedding venues in North Carolina, the Manor House provided a classic, elegant, and unique backdrop to Sarah Beth & Austin’s wedding. I love photographing in locations with history and character, so it’s hard to beat a historic home wedding venue - small details in historic homes, like patterned curtains or funky wallpaper, can really make your wedding photos stand out and lend to the overall classic and timeless feel of the day.

In addition to hosting their wedding at an awesome venue in the Tanglewood Manor House, Sarah Beth & Austin put so much thought and such a personal touch to their wedding day. Sarah Beth wore her mother’s veil, and even included her grandparents’ blue suitcases as the literal picture-perfect backdrop for wedding detail photos. Wedding detail photos are something that not every couple even realizes they want or need, but they can make such an elegant and lovely to your wedding gallery.

This couple loves classic cars and 1950s style, and it comes through brilliantly in this Tanglewood Manor House wedding planned by Perfect Peony Events. You can see it throughout their gallery, but especially in their portraits on the Manor House steps - with their classic and old-school styling, these pictures could just as easily be of a couple from the 1950s. The couple also used one of Austin’s first cars as their getaway car, complete with a Twilight Zone bumper sticker, aluminum can streamers, and Just Married sign. I mean, as a photographer, can I possibly ask for anything more?

Lastly, I have to also mention just how fun, sweet, and relaxed Sarah Beth & Austin were on their wedding day at Manor House in Tanglewood. Look no further than the photos of them in the bathtub - this was such a big part of why I loved photographing this amazing couple.
